Following the Arrest of 31-year-old Pakistani CEO ‘Hammad Akbar’ of mobile spyware maker company ‘StealthGenie’, All Major Mobile Spyware App companies have shut down their Website and discontinued all the sales of their Mobile Spyware products.
Today morning I woke up to my inbox full of Mobile Spyware companies like TopSpy, MobileSpy and couple of others whom we are affiliated to stating they are discontinuing the sales of Spyware products and are in the process of closure.
StealthGenie is an UK-based company that makes Mobile Spy Software for Spying & monitoring mobile phones of your Spouse or Children. They marketed it as an Ultimate mobile Spy App for individuals who suspect their partners of cheating on them.
This Smartphone app could surreptitiously Stalk on mobile phones without detection when it is installed on a target’s phone. The features include:
- Record all incoming/outgoing voice calls.
- Monitor the user’s e-mails, SMS, incoming voice-mails, photos, and videos.
- Intercept live calls on the phone to be monitored while they take place.
- The software could also activate a victim’s phone to eavesdrop on conversations within a 15-foot radius.
- All the communications could be viewed on a web-based dashboard.
Hammad Akbar was arrested last week in Los Angeles for allegedly advertising and selling a spyware app “StealthGenie” and now faces a number of federal charges including conspiracy and sale of a surreptitious interception device. .
According to the US Department of Justice:
“Akbar operates a company called InvoCode, which sold the StealthGenie spyware app online that can intercept communications to and from mobile phones including Apple, Google, and BlackBerry devices. Selling spyware is not just reprehensible, it’s a crime.
Apps like StealthGenie are expressly designed for use by stalkers and domestic abusers who want to know every detail of a victim’s personal life – all without the victim’s knowledge. The Criminal Division is committed to cracking down on those who seek to profit from technology designed and used to commit brazen invasions of individual privacy.”
The StealthGenie spyware technology data was hosted at a data centre in Ashburn, Virginia. The FBI has temporarily taken the service off-line, while the investigation continues.
There are dozens of other Mobile Spyware companies like MobileSpy, MSpy, FlexiSPY, and MobiStealth that do Exactly What StealthGenie did. Following the Arrest news, The Mobile Spy Software Companies around the world have either permanently stopped offering Spy services or some of them have temporary disabled the sales while they are working on the new version that work in compliance with the US department of Justice.
